The Framemaker proudly presents photography by Tabitha Sweitzer.
Sweitzer states, “The ability to find peace in today’s society is something that needs to be cherished. While visiting Greece in the summer of 2016, many of the locations I visited brought me a deep peace that I was able to translate into this series of photographs. This deep peace came from a variety of sites: the beach, modern locations and ancient sites.”
Sweitzer has enjoyed photography ever since she was a young child using an old 110 film camera. Her love of landscape and nature photography grew when she was introduced to the work of Ansel Adams and Eliot Porter.
According to the artist, “To me, the enjoyment of landscape and nature photography is in the adventure to find the perfect shot. Exploring the world to find that perfect shot fills me with excitement and peace.”
Sweitzer earned a Bachelor of Arts in Studio Arts with a concentration in Photography from Austin Peay State University in 2014. She is currently working on a Master of Arts in Art History with a concentration in Ancient Mediterranean Arts at the Academy of Arts University.
