Introspection:
Works by Blanca LaCortiglia

The Framemaker proudly presents mixed media work by Blanca LaCortiglia. This exhibit is part of Clarksville’s First Thursday Art Walk on Sept. 7, 2016. An opening reception will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. The exhibit will remain on display at the Framemaker throughout the month of September during normal business hours (Mon. through Fri. 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.).

LaCortiglia was born in New York City, N.Y. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Art Studios from the University of South Carolina. She currently resides in Clarksville, Tenn., while pursuing a Master in Art Administration at the University of Kentucky.

The artist states, “My work is a mixture of abstract, Expressionism, and fantasy. It’s dreamy and surreal in nature. Acrylic paints and other media are used to create 3D effects in my work. Thoughts and feelings come to life in an array of shapes and colors as I explore the inner mind and allow my body to take flight. I also explore ways to depict conflict, anxiousness, and joy by using different textures and forms. This helps me to reveal ideas, experiences, and locked away secrets.”
